Accounting Manager

A client of ours is looking for an Accounting Manager for a contract role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing the month-end close process, handling complex accounting entries, maintaining robust internal controls, and providing comprehensive audit support. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities of Accounting Manager

  • Oversee and manage the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP.

  • Handle complex accounting entries, including intercompany transactions, accruals, and allocations.

  • Analyze and resolve discrepancies and variances in accounts.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.

  • Conduct regular assessments of internal controls and recommend improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.

  • Prepare audit schedules and documentation to support financial statements.

  • Address audit inquiries and provide necessary information to auditors.

  • Implement audit recommendations and ensure ongoing compliance.

    Requirements

Skills/Qualifications of Accounting Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

  • Proven experience with month-end close processes and complex accounting entries.

  • Excellent understanding of internal controls and audit processes.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
