Who will you be working with? This role reports to the Production Engineering Manager

Where is the position located? This is a full-time role based in Welshpool

Responsible for developing sustainable, competitive, safe, ergonomic & environmentally correct manufacturing systems that contribute to the overall achievement of business goals and objectives.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Collaborate with production to develop plans that improve production and meet budget objectives.

  • Design and develop tooling to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and repeatability.

  • Apply continuous improvement methods to enhance safety, reliability, quality, or labor reduction.

  • Diagnose problems in the production line and provide recommendations and training to eliminate deficiencies.

  • Evaluate production flow and facility usage and implement solutions to improve production efficiencies.

  • Analysing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement.

  • Provide guidance on process approval, project management planning and implementation of capital investment projects.

  • Occasional domestic and international travel outside ordinary business hours may be required.

  • Ability to lead and function in a team environment, while effectively communicating across various levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrable application of LEAN methodologies within a production environment is desirable.

  • Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production and sharing updates with co-workers.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering

  • Current professional Registration/Licensing

  • Knowledge of Epicor or a similar ERP system

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma

  • CAD Software Experience

  • 3-Years’ experience in Engineering within the manufacturing industry is desirable

  • Above average analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong leadership qualities including the ability to maintain confidentiality
