Job Description

The Designer will report to the Site Director and is responsible for developing and or updating structural, mechanical, and piping drawings at the Kemerton Lithium Plant in alignment with Albemarle specifications and standards.

The Designer will be located at the Kemerton Lithium Plant and work closely with the Process Technology, Production and Maintenance teams to update the site master documents based on changes within the operation, enabling the close out of management of change records. The role will also require communication with 3rd parties, including suppliers on Albemarle’s behalf. The ability to work autonomously or as a part of a team is therefore essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including 2D drawings, 3D models and ensure alignment with associated design standards to support completion of Management of Change on site.

  • Work with the Process Technology, Production and Maintenance teams to support minor works, including preparing drawings, plans and details for fabrication and installation.

  • Collaborate with the Engineering,Design and associatedteams to incorporate drawing updates in the site master documents

Work Experience / Technical Skill Requirements

  • 10+ years’ relevant SMP modellingexperience, preferably with Bentley MicroStation Connect andAutoCAD intelligent models.

  • Prior experience working with Brownfields environment, preferably in a chemical processing plant either in general or mining processing industry.

  • Experience with Leica RTC360 laser scanning equipment for 3D drafting of mechanical parts and pipe work desirable.

  • Significant experience and training in the use of intelligent 3D modelling software.

  • Demonstrate organizational approach to designing equipment and prioritizing tasks to meet schedule requirements.

  • Strong communication skills in multi discipline teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and planning skills

  • Excellent computer literacy.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Education / Qualification Requirements

  • Advanced Diploma of Mechanical Engineering minimum, degree preferred.
