Webster Scale Incorporated Laborer in Webster, South Dakota

Webster Scale Inc., Webster, SD, needs 9 temporary (04/01/25 - 11/30/25) and full-time Laborers to work at various jobsites in the following South Dakota counties: Day, Brown, Marshall and Codington. Perform tasks involving physical labor at highway and roadway construction projects. Perform general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials. Assist in a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed. Report to supervisor or manager. Operate a variety of hand tools to prepare roadway and constructions sites. Prepare area for installation of Concrete, Plastic and Steel Pipe. Assist with putting pipe together, laying fabric and rock. Shovel out gravel and/or rock in trench beds. Maintain a clean job site, pick up tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards. Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, safety manager, or HR manager. 3 months experience required. No education requirements. OJT provided. $18.90p/h, overtime wage rate of $28.35, overtime including weekend work may be available but is not guaranteed, general schedule of 40h/w, 7am-5pm, Mon-Fri. Applicants may be offered higher than the advertised wage rate due to experience or merit. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid on a bi-weekly basis. The employer will make all deductions from workers paychecks that are required by law. The employer will provide optional housing accommodations from a third-party if relocating for the position and not within reasonable transport to jobsite. If employer-arranged housing is utilized the worker will be deducted approximately $400 per month. If relocating for the position, the cost of transportation and subsistence to the place of employment will be reimbursed, if half of the employment period is completed. This reimbursement will be calculated by the exact cost of the transportation expenses by airplane or bus fare, as well as subsistence expenses calculated at the minimum amount of $15.88 per 24-hour period of travel and the maximum amount of $59.00 per day. Return transportation and subsistence will be provided if the employment period is completed, or if dismissed early. The employer will provide daily transportation to and from the jobsite. The employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees that are to the benefit of the employer. All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job will be provided to workers at no charge. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period.
