Seasonal Highway Laborer - Leaf & Winter
The Town of Webster Highway Department will have seasonal opportunities during the fall and winter. Positions are up to 40-hours per week and can lead to full time employment if vacancies become available. Requires ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions. Schedule may include off-hours work. Typical Duties: Raking, shoveling, picking-up leaves from roads sides using hand tools and mechanized equipment Raking topsoil, brush and debris Brush clean-up and litter pick-up Patching and luting asphalt Mixing, forming and pouring concrete Running chainsaw and other small engine equipment Monitoring and reporting road conditions for ice and snow Dispatching snow removal personnel Completing snow removal tracking documentation Other Highway Maintenance duties as may be assigned Preferred Qualifications: Willingness to listen, learn and work hard Clean NYS driver license minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age Special Requirements: Background Checking: Applicants will be subject to a pre-employment background check, physical and drug testing. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to sit, stand, maintain physical activity for extended periods of time in a variety of environments, indoors and outside, including during inclement weather.
