DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Medical Records Director for the Department of Corrections, you direct the Medical Records department that is responsible for the establishment, classification, and maintenance of medical records and documents. You develop and implement facility policies and procedures required to ensure proper medical records completion and maintenance and compliance with accrediting/certifying agencies' requirements. Work requires a high degree of accuracy due to the frequency of multiple classification or cross references in a single case.

Duties include supervising a clerical/technical staff engaged in the maintenance of complex medical case histories. Work is performed under the direction of an administrative supervisor and is reviewed for compliance to departmental and facility policies and procedures through reports, conferences, and inspections.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 60 or 65. Please check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Registration as a Medical Records Administrator with the American Health Information Management Association; or Two years of experience as a Medical Records Technician; and registration as a Medical Records Technician with the American Health Information Management Association; or Four years of experience in the preparation, classification and abstracting of medical reports in a medical records department; and registration as a Medical Records Technician with the American Health Information Management Association. Other Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
