Job Overview:
Responsible for counseling and case management services for individuals within the department of Behavioral Health. Counseling techniques are utilized to engage clients in treatment. Assessment and treatment planning are utilized to help clients reach personal goals. Clients are assisted in obtaining entitlements and linkages to other community resources/services. Outreachactivities to clients who are ambivalent about services or who miss appointments.
Qualifications
Work Requires:The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW), psychology or- closely related field, Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Licensure required as a Social Worker, LCSW -OR- Licensed Profesional Counselor (LPC) as required and mandated by the State of New Jersey. Work requires the ability to prepare detailed assessments of patient referrals, counseling individual, group or- family members, or perform other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill. Proficiency of Microsoft Office.
ACCESS PROGRAM ONLY
Valid driver’s license required, as well as compliance with Qualifications to Drive a System Vehicle as well as all policies as outlined in the SJH Fleet Management & Safety Program. Ability to communicate fluently in American Sign Language, familiarity with Deaf Culture and be knowledgeable aboutcurrent technology in use for individuals with hearing loss.
