Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. This role requires a strong understanding of animal care and veterinary terminology to assist clients effectively and support our veterinary staff in delivering high-quality care. This role requires someone that is personable and comfortable speaking with the public, sometime during high stress situations.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule and check in appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services offered.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage medical collections.
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations or procedures as needed.
- Provide clients with information on pet care, vaccinations, and treatments.
- Process payments and handle financial transactions accurately.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to facilitate smooth operations within the clinic.
- Weekly ordering of needed clinic and reception supplies.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of animal anatomy and veterinary terminology is a plus.
- Experience in dog handling and training is a plus.
- Ability to perform medical collection duties effectively.
- A basic understanding of medical records is highly recommended.
- Must have an ability to work a full 8+ hour shift 5 days a week.
- Be available to work between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for pet care are vital for success in this role.
- Comfortably count and collect cash, credit card and care credit payments.
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care environment is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 - 43 per week
