The Director of Total Rewards, HR Systems, and Analytics plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization's approach to Total Rewards, HR technology, and workforce analytics. This position involves not only formulating a strategic vision but also overseeing the implementation of comprehensive processes, programs, policies, tools, and systems that are aligned with the organization's business priorities, culture, and value.

In addition to developing and refining these essential elements, the Director will optimize HR technologies and analytics to support the company's operations, with a specific focus on Core HR. This role involves proactively identifying and analyzing trends and patterns that could impact the organization's functions and performance, enabling informed decision-making and the development of strategies to address emerging challenges and opportunities.

Principle Duties:

  • Define Total Rewards strategies by analyzing current state, future trends, and industry best practices to optimize the organization’s ability to attract and retain top talent. Oversee and support research and analysis supporting the strategic vision of Total Rewards.

  • Responsible for the strategic design of the company’s benefit programs taking into consideration changes in the benefits area as well as the competitive landscape to ensure the company’s benefit programs allow for the recruitment and retention of associates. Assess results against corporate financial needs and goals and prepare recommendations for senior management’s review.

  • Ensure that the products and services provided by the benefits, wellness and total rewards related third-party vendors continue to meet the Company’s needs in a cost-effective manner.

  • Develop Wawa’s compensation philosophy and the overall compensation strategy. Design compensation programs, policies, and practices to meet the objectives of the compensation strategy. Oversee and manage the Company’s Executive, Management, Administrative and Store Operations salary programs, including conducting market analyses, establishing salary ranges, defining merit pay targets, establishing bonus/rewards targets and completing cost analyses.

  • Research and define Wawa’s Executive Compensation practices and current competitive pay situation. Make recommendations to the Compensation Committee of the Board regarding base pay and restricted stock grants, stock option grants, and performance shares for all eligible executives.

  • Develop the company’s Retirement Plans strategies, ensuring that plans and programs align with the strategies. Oversee the annual ESOP contribution, 401(k) and ESOP plan audits, providing guidance and direction to the organization. Sit on the company’s Retirement Plans Committee.

  • Serve as an internal consultant to management regarding issues related to Total Rewards. Model and instill the culture and organizational values within the Total Rewards solutions.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the strategy for all HR technologies needed to support the business, including Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation & Retirement Plans, Talent Management, Recruitment and Learning & Design.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related discipline preferred; Master’s degree preferred

  • 10 years’ experience in Total Rewards related work and relevant management experience

  • Prior experience in leading Human Resource systems and analytics preferred

  • Deep knowledge of Human Resource and Employment Law

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels in a team-oriented environment

  • Previous work experience in designing and implementing strategic compensation programs

  • Previous work experience in designing and administering retirement plans

Prior experience in a retail organization and familiarity with a geographically dispersed hourly workforce preferred
