Job Title: Operator

Job Description

We are an injection molding company specializing in the production of small plastic pieces such as ice scoops, nail polish holders, CD cases, DVD cases, and new products for Kawasaki. This role involves working with a lot of automation to ensure high-quality production.

Responsibilities

  • Install mold using hoist or forklift to lift, manipulate, and secure mold in press

  • Set up and shut down molds according to set-up sheet and diagram, properly attaching/removing water lines and safety equipment

  • Start machine, engage feed, and observe operation

  • Move machine controls and guide to adjust machine to meet product specifications

  • Replace worn machine accessories such as controls or switches

  • Clean press, molds, and parts

  • Inspect and measure machine product to verify conformance to specifications

  • Record production and raw material usage accurately in inventory software

  • Prepare and position support equipment and raw material

  • Tend support equipment other than molding press and mold

Essential Skills

  • 6+ months of machine operating experience

  • 6+ months of machine setup/troubleshooting experience

  • Ability to lift 50lbs independently

  • Minimum 6 months of tenure in the most recent position

  • Mechanical aptitude from personal projects such as working on a farm, cars, or in an auto body shop

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 6+ months of injection molding experience

  • 6+ months of plastic injection molding experience

Work Environment

Our facility is climate controlled with heating and AC, and it is very spacious, providing each operator with a large area and multiple machines. We operate three shifts: 1st shift from 8am-4pm, 2nd shift from 4pm-12am with a $1.00 differential, and 3rd shift from 12am-8am with a $1.50 differential. The dress code includes pants/shorts in summer, t-shirts, hair up, and steel-toe shoes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waverly, Nebraska.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.50
