We have an opportunity in our Machine Shop for a Supervisor to maintain and continuously improve our training program for machinists. This position may require frequent changes in work hours to facilitate training needs across all three shifts, wherever machinists and trainees need support. This position is responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of all machinist trainees as well as training and orientation of other new Machine Shop employees. This position is also responsible for managing day to day activities in support of department objectives in Safety, Quality, and Production. This position works closely with other machining production supervisors, leads, and machinist trainers to resolve issues and provide machining related training and support, including support to the Die Shop and Petrochem Machining. Qualifications The person we seek should have lead or supervisory experience with a strong emphasis on training of machinists. A technical degree or similar combination of education and experience relating to machine tool operation is needed. Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to prioritize activities in a rapidly changing environment, knowledge of CNC and manual mills, lathes, and good math and computer skills are all essential. At least 10 years experience in a machine shop environment is required.
