Job Title: Project Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a Project Accountant to coordinate with project managers and manage all financial aspects of ongoing projects. The ideal candidate will be adept at reviewing and understanding contracts, work orders, and purchase orders that outline payment terms, certified payroll, subcontractor requirements, and more. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving all accounts payable and receivable, billing related to jobs, processing certified payroll, lien waivers, AIA documents, and schedule of values. Additionally, you will determine the taxability status of jobs and materials, facilitate certified payroll submissions, and assist in timely collections of accounts receivable. The role also involves collaborating with company personnel, customers, and the public to support the achievement of company goals, and working closely with the Accounts Receivable Manager and Accounting Manager to develop the project accountant role for other jobs and departments.

Hard Skills

  • Project accounting experience (3+ years)

  • Experience in the construction industry

  • Knowledge of percentage completion methods

  • Proficiency in AIA Documents and Schedule of Values

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable management

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams

  • Strong organizational skills
