Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

There is one opening on 3rd shift from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Candidates must be flexible with hours before and after the shift. We seek long-term employees and will not consider candidates with a jumpy work history.

Candidates must have hands-on experience with baggers, metal detectors, scalers, and fillers, preferably with GMP/food experience. The ideal candidate must be open and willing to perform all aspects of maintenance, including non-specialized tasks such as salting sidewalks in winter or plumbing work. Team collaboration is essential.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform installation, inspection, and repair of plant equipment such as metal detectors, baggers, sealers, scales, and fillers

• Assist with diagnosing malfunctions in machinery, equipment, or work processes

• Interpret instructions, specifications, and blueprints for equipment installation, operation, and repairs

• Recommend measures to improve operations and the condition of equipment

• Ensure work is completed efficiently and timely

• Ensure correct materials, equipment, and supplies are used

• Follow all safety, housekeeping, and environmental rules and guidelines

• Document all maintenance activities correctly according to company and regulatory regulations

• Provide training to employees on quality standards and safe performance of equipment and tools

• Adhere to all current SOPs, procedures, and quality requirements

• Perform electrical work and welding/fabricating (nice to have), and other job-related duties as assigned

Work Environment

Food environment. The company packages and mixes a variety of different spices and seasonings. It is a very clean GMP environment with different rooms that separate the lines to minimize cross-contamination of products. There are 32 different lines. Employees must wear a smock, hair net/beard net if needed, and in some areas, safety glasses. There is a smell of spices in the air.
