MaineGeneral Health Supervisor Health Information Management in Waterville, Maine
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Health Information Management Supervisor to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in the release of information and a deep understanding of HIPAA rules and laws. This position involves supervising daily staffing assignments, providing direction and training to staff, and ensuring compliance with departmental and organizational policies.
Job Description:

Key Responsibilities: Supervision and Staffing:
Determine, coordinate, and supervise daily staffing assignments and levels.
Provide direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
Perform or assist with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
Quality and Productivity:
Assess the quality and productivity of services delivered.
Facilitate staff development programs.
Ensure staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
Service Delivery:
Perform staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
Lead the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience in the release of information.
Deep understanding of HIPAA rules and laws.
Certification by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), or a Maine State clinical license is preferred.
Ability to supervise and lead a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
