Manulife Product Manager, Mortgage Strategy in Waterloo, Ontario

Reporting to the Director, Broker Services and Mortgage Product, the Product Manager, Mortgage Strategy will be responsible for shaping and implementing strategies that enhance our mortgage product offerings. This role requires a deep understanding of the mortgage industry, market trends, and customer needs. An ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical abilities, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills.

Position Responsibilities:

Product strategy and development

  • Develop and refine strategic plans for our mortgage products, to improve customer experience and increase market differentiation

  • Identify new opportunities for mortgage product innovation and drive initiatives to expand and enhance the product portfolio

  • Stay informed about regulatory changes, industry trends, and technological advancements in the mortgage space to adapt and respond proactively

  • Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer preferences and growth opportunities within the mortgage market

Roadmap

  • Create and maintain the strategic roadmap for mortgage products to ensure competitive product positioning and end-to-end advisor & customer experience for the Bank’s mortgage products.

  • Collaborate with cross functional Go to Market and Digital teams to evolve and prioritize roadmaps, assess new opportunities and support the delivery of leading client experiences

Performance Analysis

  • Monitor product performance, analyze data, listen to feedback, and make insights-driven decisions to optimize the experience and performance.

  • Managing product operational activities to ensure products remain compliant and competitive in market

  • Manage partner rewards programs, advisor and broker compensation terms, ensuring competitive positioning as well as operational excellence and compliance

Market Analysis

  • Monitors the competitive environment serving as the Subject Matter Expert on competing products, features and pricing.

  • Stay ahead of regulatory changes to ensure the Bank’s mortgage products remain compliant

  • Prepare regular reporting on product performance and market insights for senior management

Shared Responsibilities:

  • Risk and compliance – collaborate with other departments in the Bank to help ensure product design, pricing and supporting processes operate with acceptable risks and meet applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Marketing strategy – work with our marketing team to establish differentiating market positioning to help the Bank achieve its objectives.

  • Business strategy – contribute to the Bank’s overall business strategy in collaboration with Strategy team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with a focus on strategy development and execution in the mortgage industry

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Business, Finance, Marketing or a related field

  • Proven track record of successfully implementing product strategies to improve client experience

  • Expert level knowledge of mortgage products, market dynamics and the regulatory environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including a developed ability to present to audiences of varying backgrounds and expertise

Salary range is expected to be between

$80,700.00 CAD - $145,260.00 CAD
