Tool Cribpersonnel will manage tool room inventory, receive and verify all inbound shipments from tooling suppliers, support Manufacturing Specialist, and perform additional support tasks as needed. Primary goals are to maximize machine run-time and increase machining efficiencies.

Job-specific functions:

• Control the physical organization of all tools in the tool crib and maintain accurate inventory within the inventory software program
• Maintain records of machine tooling and fixture inventory for issued and returned items
• Utilize bar code labeling for check-in/check-out of all tools
• Issue tools, parts, and supplies to the Production team members
• Operate the Zoller Presetting and Measuring Machine and utilize the Zoller tool management software for tool inspections, presetting, measuring and managing tools
• Work with all production departments to understand tooling needs, including gathering quotes and generating purchase requests while operating within the department budget
• Control vendor managed inventory (VMI) and purchase additional items, as necessary
• Oversee and monitor the tooling budget for machining departments
• Kit tooling for upcoming production jobs
• Deliver materials, supplies, and products between work areas
• Locate lost or misplaced tools, parts, and supplies
• Operate forklift as necessary
• Drill sharpening
• Manage all sharpening outwork and maintain statues in tool crib inventory software
• Protect the integrity of the tool crib and keep entrances locked at all times and ensure all employees are trained on current procedures
• Develop and maintain job-specific work instructions
• Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate by management
