Description:
Position Purpose:
Provide services that seek to create a safe and secure environment. Undertake activities designed to identify, deter, abate, or correct situations, both routine and emergent, that are within the scope of responsibility as they occur.
What you will Do:
Provide continuous professional and therapeutic presence in the unit.
Monitor and visit clients in rooms to see if any issues have occurred or can be resolved.
Conduct one on one therapeutic interaction with patients to deter escalations.
Document activities and services in a complete accurate and timely manner according to regulations.
Ensure client, visitor, and staff safety.
Ask for assistance when needed to assure safety for all involved.
Adhere to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures.
Hours/Schedule:
.9 FTE; 72 hours bi-weekly; 6:45pm - 7:15am; Will include a weekend and holiday rotation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience with behavioral health preferred.
Ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff, and physicians while performing their job duties.
One year of prior patient safety or security/criminal justice experience preferred.
Must possess excellent & effective interpersonal communication skills - listening, verbal and written.
Able to deal effectively with stressful/emergent situation and time constraints.
Requires the ability to work well in a very diverse environment.
