Description:

Position Purpose:

Oversees and ensures a safe and efficient drug distribution system for patients, including clinical functions. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

What you will Do:

Supervises the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy.

Monitors, reviews, interprets and dispenses medication orders in accordance with professional and legal standards and practices.

Develops and implements clinical pharmacy activities using outcome based guidelines and MercyOne policy.

Completes documentation.

Provides clinical and drug information support to healthcare professionals and patients.

Completes pharmacy department paperwork.

Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit which may include:

Birth – 28 days Neonate

1 – 18 Months Infant

18 Months – 3 Years Toddler

3 – 6 Years Preschool-aged

6 – 12 Years School-aged

12 – 18 Years Adolescents

18 – 65 Years Adults

65+ Years Geriatric

Hours/Schedule:

Full Time

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate from accredited college of pharmacy. Current Iowa Pharmacist license. Mandatory Reporter. High language, high math, high reasoning ability. Personal computer. Ability to work with a diverse group of people and communicate clearly and concisely. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to lead and direct others.
