Reference #: 4553600 THE POSITION The PA Department of Transportation has an immediate opening for a Clerical Assistant 2 at the Erie County District Office in Waterford, PA.  This position will provide clerical and office support within the District Office.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK Responsibilities of this position include the following: Serves as the receptionist by answering overflow of incoming telephone calls and personal inquiries from the public and routes to proper personnel. Answers all radio dispatch calls to the office and routes messages to proper personnel. Relays employee messages to field employees prior to the end of their shift. Maintains incoming telephone logbook daily. Serves as LSO Coordinator.  Responsible for tracking/scheduling/entering all non-equipment certification trainings. Enters required completed training rosters into LSO and pulls reports and information as requested. Responsible for ensuring that all mandatory training is completed on a cyclical basis. Receives purchase records for all VISA Purchase Card transactions from all approved users. Receives and date stamps the monthly Memo Statement from the bank and distributes to users. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $34,621 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements: One year or more of prior employment in the clerical field. One year or more of experience using Microsoft Office products. Two years or more of customer service background (answering incoming telephone calls, re-routing class as a switchboard operator or speaking with customers and/or employees that come into the office). You must be able to perform essential job functions.
