Senior Procurment Manager

The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and managing the procurement activities for the Waterford Contact Lens plant. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of all materials, equipment and services. The Senior Procurement Manager will work closely with various departments and Global Procurement to align procurement strategies with business objectives and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain. The Senior Procurement Manager will ensure compliance to all appropriate policies and procedures and that all cost, quality and inventory requirements are met.

Roles & Responsibilties

  • Manage local procurement team.

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals.

  • Collaborate with the Global Procurement team to align strategies and leverage global sourcing opportunities.

  • Work closely with Global Category Managers to optimize procurement across different product categories.

  • Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess market trends.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand procurement needs and requirements.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, including regular supplier review meetings for quality & performance.

  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions.

  • Provide leadership and support on sourcing/contracting across all contact lens suppliers.

  • Ensure all demand requirements for components, raw materials and direct materials including packaging are fulfilled.

  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns

  • Meet all budget, inventory and cost savings targets.

  • Analyze procurement spend data to identify areas for improvement and implement cost reduction initiatives.

  • Support all New Product introductions and ensure no risk to supply. Implement Risk Mitigation strategies to ensure supply interruptions to manufacturing are minimized.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes and systems.

  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

  • Ensure all Government requirements are met as it relates to Importation of ALL goods outside of the EU to the site.

Job Requirments

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

  • Purchasing & Materials Management (IIPMM) degree or equivalent qualification

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • ERP LX knowledge preferable. MRP experience essential. Microsoft Office

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Knowledge of global sourcing and international procurement practices.
