**[Job Summary: [Journeyman electrician -- [Install, modify, troubleshoot, repair industrial electrical equipment, install/troubleshoot instruments, and control systems. Has the ability to work in multiple environments both interior and exterior. Providing technical advice, feedback to the crew lead as well as the apprentices. Work in a crew setting as well as work independently. Provide panel/fabrication shop support for the electrical and automation crew when directed. Journeyman Industrial Electricians are the technical face of KEW/TecPro and shall represent themselves as confident, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional with all contractors, customers and within the community.

  • Install electrical equipment and systems per applicable NEC and project specifications in commercial or industrial environments.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and systems within commercial and industrial environments.
  • Install control system equipment and instrumentation associated with process control systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, ladder diagrams, and project specific specifications. Mechanical and structural drawings are a plus.
  • Understanding the operations and functions of standard electrical equipment to include transformers, MCCs, switchgear, motors, pumps, generators, transfer switches, UPS systems, low voltage systems, fire detection and suppression systems, lighting controls, relay logic, etc. PLC and automation drawings and function are a plus.
  • Ability to perform basic electric math calculations.
  • Thorough knowledge of the NEC and electrical theory.
  • Electrical testing and how to use testing equipment including megohmmeter, ground resistance tester, multimeter, amp clamp, power quality analyzer, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete pretesting and functional testing for equipment startups / commissioning.
  • Responsible for the proper use and care of the contractor provided tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial/commercial construction.
  • Mentor and train apprentices through on the job activities.

Alaska Certificate of Fitness - Journeyman Level`

Must hold a valid drivers license - CDL is a plus.

5+ years of experience in commercial and industrial construction.

Knowledge of material commonly used and standard install practices, including classified locations.

Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to maintain drawings, redlines, as-builts, testing reports, etc.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to meet deadlines and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
