Summary
Position: ENG Technician
Location: 1717 Desales St. N.W, Washington
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime as required
Responsibilities
Electronic News Gathering (ENG) field camera, sound, and lighting work for digital and broadcast platforms
Ability to travel on short notice to field locations in and around Washington, D.C., across the United States, and internationally
Operate cameras, microphones, portable audio mixer, lighting instruments, and non-linear editing software
Live stream, file transfer, and baseband feed audio /video content
Qualifications
3 to 5 years industry experience
Highly skilled in the use of professional broadcast equipment, digital recording media, waveform monitors, and vector scopes
Highly skilled in news-style editing using non-linear editing platforms both in the office and on notebook computers in the field
Familiarity with all aspects of electronic news gathering /production /editing /feeding /streaming /file transfer
Familiarity with field video encoding for digital streaming and file transfer
Broad knowledge of consumer and prosumer devices for image /video capture, streaming, and transfer
Advanced troubleshooting skills for resolving technical issues in the field and acting as technical prime in the office
Prior experience with AVID Media Composer an asset
Valid driver’s license & passport with no barriers to entry for Canada, the United States, or international destinations
No barriers to security clearances required for members of the media
Ability to plan logistics related to content production and /or travel
Base knowledge of U.S. issues, politics, and principal players

Work Arrangement: Full-time in office (meaning that you will be required to perform your work on-site)
