Eaton’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) Division has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer - Tool & Die Design at our Washington, PA manufacturing plant.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

You will be responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining tooling used in our manufacturing process. Additionally, this is a great opportunity to utilize leadership skills, as this role will supervise a small team of Tool & Die Makers and continue to develop the department. This role will collaborate with cross function teams and department leaders to support the creation and implementation of manufacturing strategies, which will lead to improvements in employee safety, quality performance, product delivery, and reductions in product/process variation. Day to day activities include:

  • Tooling Design – Design and development of stamping tooling including strip layouts, simulations, die construction and press specifications. Develop and construct progressive dies and tools for the production of steel outlet boxes. Inspect completed parts and compare to die specifications for accuracy and quality, adhering to strict manufacturing standards.

  • Lead Tool & Die Team – Identify and resolve problems to minimize downtime and maintain workflow. Work closely with engineering teams and Master Die Makers to improve die designs and enhance production efficiency. Manage materials used in die-making, ensuring proper storage and handling to maintain quality. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and die performance. Track and report progress of tooling programs from sourcing to a production ready state

  • Department Maintenance – Implement maintenance and repair programs for production tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Maintain accurate records of die maintenance, repairs, and modifications for future reference.

The ideal candidate possesses proven leadership capability with excellent communication skills. The ability to drive results by developing and empowering teams will be essential to this role. As a key member of our engineering team, proficiency in lean manufacturing tools, including VSM, 5S, Std Work, and Set-Up Reduction will be beneficial in driving a culture of Quality, Continuous Improvement, and Lean implementation within the site. Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Institution

  • Minimum five (5) years of Tool & Die experience, including designing progressive stamping dies and troubleshooting operations

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Washington, PA will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of various production environments (low volume/high mix and high volume/low mix) including safety requirements and use of lean techniques in these environments

  • Experience with Wire EDM and/or CNC machining technologies

  • Experience with Servo Press
