Responsibilities You will provide a structured holistic engineering approach to DON advanced battery mission needs by managing four pillars: Battery Testing Capability, Battery Certification, Battery Development Safety (BDSX) and Platform Integration. You will develop technology that supports criteria based shipboard certification and associated risk factor analysis. You will develop testing, storage, and charging requirements to allow for safe deployment in current and future weapon systems. You will assess and produce solutions to current Navy battery needs, including shipboard integration and accelerating operational capability. You will invest in long term sustainment and management of battery deployment. You will manage program requirements including risk management plan, budget plan and execution strategies, and assesses the technical, schedule, and cost risk to the program. You will implement improvements to production and programmatic deficiencies. You will use analytical and evaluative methods and techniques for assessing program execution and improving organizational effectiveness and efficiency. You will be responsible for program planning, tasking and execution, cost assessment, contracting, scheduling, technical and risk assessment, and reporting. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-12/13 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading an engineering strategy to manage testing, certification, safety, and integration efforts to ensure safe, efficient deployment while addressing program risks and budgets for the improvement or optimization of a battery technology program.
