Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

Position Overview: As a Quality Inspector, you will assist in planning, developing, and implementing quality systems to ensure plant parts meet or exceed customer expectations. You will be responsible for identifying and containing parts that do not meet quality standards due to defects, human error, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods, or stability samples.

  • Assist in analyzing processes for improvements, failure modes, stability, and capability.

  • Perform visual inspections of finished products.

  • Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures, including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms.

  • Receive and inspect raw materials.

  • Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.

  • Participate in internal assessments and audits as required.

  • Complete miscellaneous reporting, administrative, and other quality-related functions for the Quality Control Department.

Essential Skills

  • 1 to 2 years of Quality Inspection experience.

  • 1+ years of Quality Assurance experience.

  • Working knowledge of quality audit techniques.

  • Basic math ability.

  • General understanding and working knowledge of product design specifications, functions, and quality standards of finished products as well as parts/materials needed.

  • Effective time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently or as a team player.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to understand inspection standards.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multicultural work environment.

  • Ability to be flexible in a constantly changing production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of Quality Control experience (education may substitute).

  • Experience with manufacturing processes, tooling, quality control methods, and statistical process control (SPC).

  • Injection plastics and Urethane process experience is a plus.

  • Previous exposure to a multicultural office environment is a plus.

Work Environment

Work Conditions: Open office environment with moderate to loud noise. Standard automotive plant environment with PPE such as safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and hearing protection. Personal attire standards may apply. Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extensive periods of time. May occasionally be required to lift up to 60 pounds. Shift Details: Day Shift – 7am – 6pm M-F (sometimes you may leave at 4:30, on a rotation). Training can take anywhere from 30 – 90 days.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $14.50
