Actalent Mechanical Test Engineer in Washington, Illinois

Job Title: Test Engineer

Job Description

This role involves assisting with transmission and drivetrain testing development. The engineer will need to understand the workings of construction machines such as Medium Wheel Loaders and Various Tractors. Responsibilities include running tests on machines, supervising tests, analyzing results, and making necessary changes to software that controls transmission. The role also entails taking data, working with component engineers to compare results with expectations, and making necessary modifications. The position requires working in a team setting, presenting results, and collaborating with various teams.

Hard Skills

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude, ideally with engine work

  • Drivetrain experience

  • Some CAD understanding

  • Machine controls understanding

Soft Skills

  • Strong initiative

  • Ability to work independently

  • Comfortable working on-machine, outdoors

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Peoria, Illinois.

Work Environment

The facility consists of various buildings dedicated to on-machine validation. The role will be split approximately 50/50 between office work and on-machine/testing.
