The Web Designer/Developer will perform a wide range of services necessary to design and maintain the Bureau's numerous websites and home pages. This role will enhance website content and features to enable greater outreach and interaction with various constituencies, stakeholders, and the public. The Web Designer/Developer will support the Bureau's goal of utilizing its websites as a vehicle to increase cooperation, efficiency, and effectiveness in meeting mission objectives. Key responsibilities include conceptualizing, designing, and developing visually appealing and user-friendly websites, collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements, and implementing solutions using the latest web technologies and graphic tools.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in web design, development, or webmaster functions

  • Hands-on experience managing and maintaining websites

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong graphic and web design skills, with proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies

  • Knowledge and expertise in web design and graphic tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash)

  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art web design and maintenance tools

  • Ability to work with database applications and integrate data into web platforms

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software and applications

  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and presenting design concepts

  • Strong conceptual, design, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team

  • Demonstrated well-rounded technical background

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience working with U.S. foreign affairs agencies and/or international organizations

  • Foreign language skills preferred but not required
