Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant in the renewable energy industry, located in Washington, District of Columbia. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a variety of workflows and processes, preparing journal entries, producing financial statements, and assisting in the technical accounting and reporting research. This role is integral to our success and requires a candidate with excellent attention to detail, accounting, and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple workflows and processes for structured funds entities

• Prepare journal entries and update workbooks and schedules for period-end close

• Produce a full set of standalone and consolidated financial statements for funds

• Assist in the accounting and reporting research to analyze significant and complex non-recurring transactions (ASC 606 and 842)

• Complete account reconciliations, financial statements, and other analyses periodically to support our monthly close, consolidation, and external reporting requirements

• Work closely with the Asset Management and Development teams to reconcile project budgets to actual spend

• Innovate to create process efficiencies and optimize our use of available systems and technologies

• Assist with the development, refinement, implementation, and documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls related to the corporate accounting, reporting, and tax function

• Support the team in accounting research, writing technical memos, and documenting policies and procedures

• Support and/or lead periodic special projects.

The ideal candidate for this Senior Accountant role will have 3+ years of public accounting audit experience, BS in Accounting, CPA+ and strong technical accounting and research skills (ASC 606 and 842). Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting (audit).

• Proficiency in General Ledger management and Consolidated Financial Statements.

• Experience with Audit - Financial, Renewable Energy, and Lease Accounting.

• Proven ability to manage Journal Entries and Account Reconciliation.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures.

• Proficiency in using NetSuite for accounting tasks.

• Familiarity with ASC 606 standard.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Commitment to ethical behavior with a high level of integrity and professionalism.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
