Summary This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance. The mission of the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is to provide federal leadership and assistance in support of state and local criminal justice strategies to achieve safe communities; BJA's overall goals are to reduce violent crime, create safer communities, and reform the U.S. criminal justice system. Responsibilities - Manage and analyze complex administrative, financial, and performance grant data. - Perform advanced analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights, develops and implements data models to support strategic decision-making. - Create detailed reports and visualizations to present analysis findings to leadership, team members, and other stakeholders. - Manage special projects, provide expert advice to senior management on major program issues related to policy. - Prepare speeches, talking points, statements, and other related documents for leaders and officials to address policy matters before audiences. - Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders throughout organization and department, and external stakeholders. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Selective Placement Factor (SPF): Experience managing and analyzing administrative, financial, and performance data from multiple grant programs to assess, recommend, and implement organization-wide process, policy, and procedure enhancements. Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include: Performing analysis of grant data to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Developing and implementing data models to support strategic decision-making related to grant programs. Creating detailed reports and data visualizations. Presenting findings and data to leadership, team members, and stakeholders. Preparing speeches, talking points, statements, and other documents for leaders and officials for addressing policy matters before varying audiences. Providing expert guidance and participating in policy formulation activities for organization-wide grant programs. This position has a duty station of Washington, D.C. The selectee will be required to physically report to the OJP office building at least four (4) days per bi-weekly pay period and may incorporate leave and official travel plans into this reporting requirement. The office director or supervisor may request the selectee's presence in the office more frequently, as determined by the needs of the office. The selectee will be responsible for covering all commuting-related travel expenses. OJP employees are eligible for one transportation benefit - parking or the Department of Justice (DOJ) transit subsidy.
