The Software Engineer standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes. Researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Four or more years of experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications and/or infrastructure

  • The ability to break down complex problems into smaller, manageable steps and find innovative solutions.

  • A strong learning attitude and ability to collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common goals.

  • Proficiency working with C# and .NET technologies such as ASP.NET Core, MVC and legacy .NET frameworks.

  • Proficiency implementing security integrations with .NET, such as user security, SSO in web and mobile applications, SAML 2.0, WS Federation, OAuth2.0 and OIDC.

  • Proficiency in upgrading .NET frameworks and packages, including source control management and integrating CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps.

  • Provides direction and best practices on .NET applications, including modernization and maintaining EOL upgrades.

  • Familiar with front-end technologies such as Angular, ASP.NET Blazor and Razor, Bootstrap, CSS, DevExpress, HTML, JavaScript, and jQuery.

  • Contributes to the team by providing code reviews and suggestions on code improvements for team members.

  • Solid understanding of AGILE principals and methodologies, with experience in the SCRUM and Kanban frameworks

Work-At-Home Requirements

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$78,800 - $108,500 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
