The opportunity

EY's Markets Enablement team is seeking a Creative Design Senior Specialist. This role is pivotal in enhancing our strategic deals with innovative visuals and design strategies. The role reports to the Area Deal Lead and is expected to serve as a beacon of pursuit excellence, bringing vast knowledge, tools, and resources from across the firm and their own professional experience to proactively deliver creative design assets progressing the pursuit towards a winning outcome.

This role is supports the firm’s most high-value, strategic deals across the following scope of responsibilities:

  • Developing leading practice pursuit design, driving process consistency, and identifying synergies in collateral development.

  • Develop and communicate complex ideas, solutions, and value propositions through compelling visual, cohesive, and persuasive narratives that resonate with clients and effectively convey the team's strategic

  • Collaborate and stretch team’s thinking to integrate design elements seamlessly into proposals and materials, incorporating user-centered design principles, ensuring that the design not only is professional and visually appealing but also enhances the overall user experience and engagement approach

  • Ensure design work across all design assets remains consistent with the company's branding identity, while also tailoring visuals to resonate with the specific needs and preferences of client or industry

  • Infuse current design and industry trends, design techniques, and emerging technologies to bring fresh and innovative design ideas, enhancing the overall quality and impact of presentations and materials

  • Be a beacon of pursuit excellence, bringing vast knowledge, tools, and resources from across the firm and their own professional experience to proactively deliver creative design assets progressing the pursuit towards a winning outcome.

  • Focus on the Quality and Risk Management of their work and resource management of opportunities by leveraging their pool of offshore designers.

  • Responsible for the performance and resource management of a team of pursuit designers (both onshore and offshore) and for elevating team building, mentorship and inspire team members on their work and performance

  • Conceive and deliver strategic design initiatives that have a significant impact on the firm’s ability to win more, win bigger and win better.

Your key responsibilities

Some or all of the below accountabilities will be applicable depending on the scope of the role:

Creative strategy that effectively convey and enhance EY’s win themes, solution and offering

  • Responsible for the developing the visual design strategy that supports our win strategy and the client’s requirements using a variety of design tools and software

  • Contributes to overall win strategy by developing innovative visuals, presentations, graphics, and packaging methods which resonate with the client’s business issues, culture, industry and market position

  • Conducts client, service line/solution and sector research to develop a creative strategy that is tailored for the pursuits

  • Produces design comparable based on above research to give the team optionality in the creative strategy

  • Attends and contributes to pursuit strategy calls throughout the pursuit process to enhance knowledge of client and offering to further tailor the creative strategy and to proactively offer ideas for design solutions and innovation

  • Pitches and influences the pursuit team on creative strategy, including determining any budgetary needs and obtaining approval as applicable/necessary

  • Be a beacon of pursuit excellence, bringing vast knowledge, tools, and resources from across the firm and their own professional experience to proactively deliver creative design assets progressing the pursuit towards a winning outcome.

  • Conceive and deliver strategic design initiatives that have a significant impact on the firm’s ability to win more, win bigger and win better.

Creative production: Produce tailored deliverables and graphics across the pursuit lifecycle on schedule and with the highest levels of quality

  • Translates the creative strategy into compelling pursuit deliverables (e.g., proposals, meetings documents, orals presentations, videos, custom graphics/tables/images/photos)

  • In collaboration with the Deal Manager, establishes the production process, timeline, and procedures to meet client/pursuit deadlines

  • Directs and manages any additional design resources and vendors needed to execute the creative strategy (e.g., offshore designers, reprographics, proofreaders, illustrators, video resources)

  • Performs final QA/QC review, ensuring adherence to EY brand, visual identity, and quality standards

  • Develops innovative concepts for packaging design, print and collateral delivery when appropriate

  • Collaborate with deal teams to create the campaign visual strategy and design

  • Engage as a key participant in deal strategy sessions

  • Be an expert of strategic design messaging and lead conceptualization of all materials

  • Contribute to and helping drive the development of account, and opportunity value propositions

  • Be the pursuit Visual Identity subject matter expert and custom brand ambassador

  • Leverage offshore and onshore designers to assist with pursuit related tasks that will allow for additional focus on deal management and creative consulting

  • Quality review and mentor designers (onshore and offshore) in design feedback and best-practice training for furhter development of roles

  • Collaborate to help build strategic Client, Internal and External Communications

Innovation: Translate visual strategies into forward-thinking designs and deliverables that resonate with the client and differentiate EY.

  • Lead a program of continuous improvement activities to ensure the firm’s strategic design approach is innovative and incorporates the latest technological developments where possible.

  • Keeps abreast of industry knowledge and trends to assess, identify, and implement new technology and/or design innovation such as interactive presentations and digital content delivery.

  • Analyzes market developments and leads initiatives to leverage innovation in strategic design

  • Shares best practices and innovation from pursuits and other experiences with teammates, the broader BD community, and the global firm as appropriate.

  • Supports team strategic and/or operational initiatives to develop new or enhance existing best practices, tools, or enablers.

  • Stay future focused on tools and processes to determine areas for improvement, and is encouraged to amend current processes and tools to stay up to date with current trends

  • Leverage and connect with teams around the firm as tools and innovative ideas are being developed elsewhere, and determine if next steps are deemed appropriate for use within COE

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role you must have

  • University/Bachelor/Technical degree or equivalent work experience required

  • 15+ years of Graphic Design/Communications / Pursuits Strategy experience

  • Previous experience of managing teams/communities

  • Cross-border experience gained working in a large global organization

  • Strong understanding of Deal Activation or new business pitches

  • Proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in a professional services environment is highly advantageous

  • Understanding of Business Development, Pursuit Management or new business pitches

  • Design-related accreditations (e.g., Adobe Certified)

  • Demonstrates executive presence and influence with senior firm stakeholders

  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work from own initiative with limited supervision

What we offer

The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary range/s

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $127,300 to $245,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $152,700 to $278,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
