Kadiak LLC, a subsidiary of Koniag Government Services, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electronic Document Technician to lead and manage the Electronic Document Room (EDR) operations. This critical role is responsible for overseeing the efficient management, processing, and preservation of electronic documents and records, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The Senior Electronic Document Technician will be responsible for:
Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Electronic Document Room (EDR), ensuring efficient and effective document management processes.
Develop, implement, and enforce policies, procedures, and standards for electronic document handling, indexing, storage, retrieval, and archiving.
Supervise and provide leadership to a team of Electronic Document Technicians, ensuring adherence to established protocols and performance standards.
Conduct training programs and workshops to educate staff on document management best practices, software applications, and relevant regulations.
Maintain and manage databases, electronic files, documentation, and computer tapes, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of document management systems, hardware, and related infrastructure.
Implement and maintain robust data backup and disaster recovery protocols to safeguard critical electronic records.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of document management processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process optimization strategies.
Provide technical guidance and support to various departments and stakeholders on document management-related issues and requirements.
Stay up to date with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in electronic document management and records management.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines, such as those set forth by regulatory bodies or government agencies.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Management, or a related field.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in the Computer Science or Information Management field, with a focus on electronic document management and records management.
Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a document management or records management environment.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of professionals.
In-depth knowledge of document management systems, databases, and related software applications.
Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance requirements related to electronic document management and records management.
Expertise in records management principles, including document lifecycle management, retention schedules, and archiving strategies.
Proficiency in database management, data manipulation, and reporting techniques.
Attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy in document indexing, organization, and retrieval processes.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex document management issues.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
Experience in a government or regulated environment, with knowledge of relevant document management regulations and compliance requirements.
Familiarity with workflow automation tools and process optimization techniques.
Knowledge of data migration strategies and best practices for transitioning between document management systems.
Understanding of information governance principles and practices.
Experience in developing and delivering training programs related to document management and records management.
Proficiency in scripting languages or programming for automating document management tasks and processes.

Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
