FANNIE MAE Senior Director - Multifamily Underwriting Fraud Prevention (Flexible Hybrid) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Job Description In this compelling leadership position, you will be accountable for managing communications and/or negotiations between Fannie Mae and clients regarding loans and other investments. In this role, you will lead the ongoing management of and implement modifications to underwriting and reviewing the issuance of securities to customers. You will ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, policies, processes, procedures, and standards.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

The Senior Director - Multifamily Underwriting Fraud Prevention role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee the team responsible for determining the business areas that pose potential increased risk to the enterprise, and develop and establish processes to identify risks

  • Lead team responsible for performing in-depth underwriting reviews to prevent the enterprise from acquiring loans with potential fraud, deficient property values or increased borrower exposure risk

  • Oversee and review potential risks and costs involved with providing services to a customer and drive changes related to process improvement

  • Review lending review process and determine, with the collaboration of executive leadership, if changes are needed

  • Direct team efforts to update processes

  • Develop and implement process on issuance of the securities or other financial loans to the customer

Qualifications THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experience

  • 8 years of underwriting and management experience

Desired Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred

  • Skilled in financial analysis

  • Must be able to leverage ratios

  • Experience with loan application evaluation

  • Loan management skills

  • Property analysis experience

  • Risk assessment and management skills

  • Risk mitigation experience

  • Skilled in Excel
