Job Description
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in assisting with daily operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This position is responsible for managing the general ledger, reconciling accounts, preparing timely and accurate financial statements, and coordinating with accounts receivable/payables, in addition to overseeing other accounting processes.
Responsibilities
Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and ensuring proper account coding.
Assist with overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
Prepare and review account reconciliations, including bank accounts, credit cards, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Ensure reconciliations comply with established policies and audit requirements.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Collaborate with the CFO to provide detailed variance analyses and financial insights.
Assist in the preparation of reports for management, lenders, and other stakeholders.
Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions as needed, ensuring accurate integration into financial records.
Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes as required.
Assist with the implementation and administration of new accounting and project management systems.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Ability to work in a team environment with changing demands and timelines.
Desire to learn and assume increasing responsibilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Excel, including VLookups and Pivot Tables.
Experience with bank reconciliations and fixed asset management.
Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is a plus but can be trained.

The role offers upward mobility with the potential to advance into an Accounting Manager/Controller position. The work environment is collaborative, with opportunities to work across various departments and assume increasing responsibilities.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $40.87
