Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Policy Analyst III with a Top Secret / SCI Clearance to support Kadiak, LLC and our government customer in Washington, DC. This is a Hybrid opportunity. This position requires 4-days onsite.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Serve as a policy analyst in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Counterterrorism.
• Liaise with a wide array of regional and functional bureaus within the Department of State and the interagency on a routine basis to communicate effectively and advance the policy of the Counterterrorism Bureau.
• In coordination with the relevant regional and functional bureaus, advise the Office Director and Deputy Director on special projects in his/her area of responsibility.
• Support bilateral and multilateral diplomatic engagements involving the Secretary of State and other Department and interagency principals with relevant partners.
• Participate in interagency meetings as they relate to the areas of responsibility and help prepare leadership for various local and international meetings, speeches, and presentations.
• Conduct outreach to manage relationships with international organizations and NGOs as needed.
• Research, prepare, and review policy papers and briefing checklists on key topics across multiple regional issue sets and across various lines of effort.
• Support the organization and conduct of conferences and meetings, as assigned.
• Support other projects as directed, including high-level USG visits.
• On-site presence required with situational telework if appropriate.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree and 5 plus years of experience preferred. Preferred areas of study are international studies, political science, national security, foreign policy, humanitarian assistance, foreign assistance, or counterterrorism.
• State Department policy experience preferred but policy for another federal agency in areas of foreign policy, humanitarian assistance, foreign assistance, or counterterrorism could qualify.
• Able to be available for up to 20% overseas travel.
• Able to brief and work effectively with high-ranking officials of the State Department, other government agencies, and foreign governments.
• Have a strong understanding of the paper process and other procedures at the State Department.
• Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Contractor must be able to learn and retain the policies and viewpoints of the assigned office as they relate to current foreign policy situations and Bureau program activities.
• Must have a strong understanding of interagency coordination and how to work across multiple organizations.
• Have experience engaging in an international context.
• Have experience on planning and coordination with interagency or international partners.
• Top Secret/ SCI Clearance
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
