Our client in Washington DC is immediately hiring for a Phlebotomist to join their team. This is a full time permanent role and will pay based on years of experience. This will be onsite in DC with the hours of 9am-6pm. Qualified candidates will have an interview scheduled within 48 hours of resume submission.

Job Requirements

• 2+ years of phlebotomist experience.

• Experience performing blood draws.

• Expeirnece labeling specimens.

• Centrifuging specimens.

• Recording maintenance data and decontamination.

• Updating patient information.

• Collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data and decontamination, and update patient information.

• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.

• Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture (blood drawing) and/or other specimen collection (e.g., urine or fecal) as required.

• Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.

• Fully understand all physicians' orders.

• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.

• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.

• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.

• Package specimens for transport and store specimen samples according to required temperature.

• Place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately label them, and follow different procedures as outlined by specific protocols to maintain the integrity of the specimen.

• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.

• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries..
