Amalgamated Bank PACE Administrator in Washington, District Of Columbia
Amalgamated Bank is seeking a PACE Administrator who will be responsible for overseeing and expanding our Commercial and Residential Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE and R-PACE) portfolio to reduce environmental impact, support decarbonization and electrification, provide resiliency, and advance adoption of renewable energy.

Business Development
Identify and develop C-PACE and R-PACE opportunities with PACE originators, developers, and commercial property owners supporting new construction and retrofitting of commercial buildings and residential properties that qualify for PACE financing.
Collaborate with commercial banking relationship managers and treasury department staff to evaluate PACE referrals.
Meet with originators, attend trade/networking functions and industry events aimed at expanding the Bank’s PACE portfolio and gathering information regarding best practices and industry trends.
Actively identify opportunities to establish deposit relationships and cross-sell other Bank products and services including treasury management and investment services and products.
Work closely and in coordination with the Bank’s Director of Climate Lending to ensure production goals are met, credit quality standards are maintained, and portfolio is aligned with the Bank’s climate and investment strategy.
Credit Underwriting
With support from the underwriting, treasury and credit risk teams within the Bank, analyze and structure new C-PACE assessments and R-PACE purchases that demonstrate appropriate structure, acceptable pricing, and prudent risk management.
Act as the primary point of contact for internal PACE credit presentations and reviews.
Work with legal counsel, underwriting team, and treasury department to review documentation and closing of PACE facilities.
Portfolio Management
Provide periodic C-PACE portfolio status reports.
Maintain frequent contact with originators and servicers to gauge construction progress and delinquent payments.
Work with finance department to ensure proper reconciliation of PACE portfolio.
Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:
Minimum 2 years experience with Commercial PACE financing transactions
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, environmental science or related field with proven academic excellence; MBA preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience within a commercial banking lending environment
Credit trained lender with project finance and/or commercial solar lending experience preferred
Experience with the credit process including information requests, underwriting, authoring credit memos, presenting to credit committee, overseeing documentation, and managing a portfolio for adherence to covenants and compliance post-closing
Passion to support climate conscious organizations
Successful track record in relationship management, coalition building, and partnership execution
Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $125,000.00 – $135,000.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
