This position is part of the Responsibilities Operates propane/electric powered high-lift fork trucks having a load capacity up to 4,000 pounds and capable of carrying, lifting, stacking loads of flat paper stock and materials of varying dimensions (i.e. different weights and heights). Operates materials handling equipment of lesser capacity such as labor savers, low lift walkers, tractors, single power conveyer system, to load/unload, unstuck, re-warehouse, and move boxes, crates, and packages. Receives incoming/outgoing shipments. Processes and verifies quantities and condition of materials and equipment. Completes and maintains log of incoming shipments, and conducts final checking of outgoing shipments. Receives and/or stages stock for shipment or issue. Loads, unloads, packs, and delivers shipments. Ensures correctness of quantities, identification and labeling. Completes documents, obtains signatures, and maintains records and prepares reports. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for the position, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of a Materials Handler. These duties require skill in the following: Skill in the movement of materials handling, such as stacking, palletization, and special handling requirements. Skill in calibrating scales, weighing materials, and multiplying quantities to arrive at count. Skill in operating automated equipment such as CRT Terminals, optical readers, scanners, etc. Skill in the safe handling and movement of hazardous material.
