Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will r eport to the e xecutive d irector, Asia , and support the International Division’s U.S.-Korea Business Council and the U. S.-Pakistan Business Council on workstreams related to international trade, regulatory policy , and investment policy . This encompasses work on a wide range of services to corporate members, including policy development, advocacy and analysis, and coalition building.

Responsibilities :

  • Work with the Korea and Pakistan teams to manage the policy and program development of both co uncils, including in-person and virtual events .

  • Closely monitor and research key political, policy, and regulatory developments that impact U.S. businesses in Korea and Pakistan .

  • Draft policy position papers, briefing memos, speeches, press releases, letters, and other materials .

  • Provide logistical support for the c ouncils’ business missions to Korea and Pakistan .

  • Draft and contribute content for internal and external updates , such as newsletters, websites, and social media .

  • Support efforts to expand membership in the Asia program and the bu siness councils .

    Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in i nternational r elations, Asian or Korean s tudies, i nternational e conomics, or i nternational b usiness and 3-5 years’ experience working on Asian trade and investment policy issues .

  • Demonstrated expertise in government practices, policies, and structure .

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and writing skills .

  • Ability to work productively as a team player in a fast-paced environment .

  • Ability and willingness to travel overseas .

  • Korean language skills preferred .

  • Business development experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of the U.S. business community operating in the Korean marketplace, particularly in the areas of digital economy, financial services, health care, and energy a plus.

    The salary range for this position is $58,564.00 to $80,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
