U.S. International Trade Commission Management Analyst in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary The position is located in the Office of Operations, Office of Industry and Competitiveness Analysis (ICA). The successful candidate will report to the Associate Director and be responsible for working with a small team of management analysts and program support specialists to perform final production of reports and working papers created in the Office. In addition, this position will assist another management analyst to oversee all administrative processes and procedures for ICA. Responsibilities As a Management Analyst, assigned to the Office of Operations, Office of Industries and Competitiveness Analysis. Your typical work assignments may include: Analyzes data and prepares written reports for executives and other managers on administrative topics ranging, from travel and training to labor cost, and drafting presentations; Provides direction and assistance on all aspects of administrative support that impacts the mission of the agency; Oversees administrative processes, policies and procedures to ensure internal controls are adhered to by the staff and fields requests from internal and external stakeholders; Reviews, analyzes, and updates the Office's administrative databases and procedures to ensure efficient workflow and accurate maintenance; Formats working papers in Microsoft Word and reports for final publication in Adobe Acrobat and maintains a standard of compliance to ensure the accessibility of office reports, studies, and other Commission work products for the disabled; Works with project coordinators to provide guidance and direction producing and formatting Office documents in the Agency's established style; Serves as a HR liaison and coordinates human resources management issues; monitors status of personnel actions, separations, removals and retirements, and training requests; and provides periodic updates to senior-level management; Utilizes various methods in researching information including, but not limited to databases (e.g., the Agency's internal document system, labor cost codes, and the technical assistance database), and other applicable financial and historical records. Serves as a point of contact in statutory and other project assignments; Uses the latest technology to compile and analyze data for requested reports to facilitate management analysis. To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility at, or equivalent to, the GS-11 level obtained in the Federal service or in the private or non-profit sector. Specialized experience would include four or more of the following: (i) experience providing assistance to Senior-level personnel and other management analysts on administrative processes and procedures impacting the mission of the agency; (ii) experience formatting working papers in Microsoft Word and reports for final publication in Adobe Acrobat; (iii) experience making documents compliant to assist people with disabilities; (iv) experience compiling and analyzing data and preparing written reports for Senior-level personnel on administrative topics ranging from travel and training to labor costs, and drafting presentations; and (v) experience overseeing administrative processes, policies, and procedures and recommending policy changes to improve efficiency. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education GS-12: There is no substitution of education at the GS-12 level.
