Meet the Team
The Regulatory Affairs team within Cisco’s Legal department is comprised of lawyers, operational specialists, program managers, engineers, and subject matter experts focused on topics including privacy, global trade, cybersecurity, telecom, environmental sustainability, and various regulatory practice areas. The team’s charter is aligned with influencing, interpreting, and implementing evolving and existing regulations that impact Cisco’s business and interacting with external stakeholders on these important topics. We partner with colleagues in Legal and functional teams across the company to drive impact.
This team is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Corporate Counsel to advise on global environmental and sustainability regulations, lead initiatives to help shape and implement our environmental policies, ensure compliance with regulations, and drive strategic projects across the company. You will also lead a team of legal and compliance professionals providing guidance and support on corporate and product-related environmental sustainability matters.
Your Impact
Leading a team of lawyers and regulatory specialists focused on environmental sustainability matters.
Providing strategic legal advice and support on regulatory compliance including key requirements related to corporate governance and reporting, packaging and product materials, recycling, and circular design.
Developing policies, guidelines, and procedures to promote compliance with environmental sustainability requirements.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Cisco’s Chief Sustainability Office, Finance, Supply Chain, and engineering to implement legal strategies that enable business objectives.
Partnering with Cisco’s Government Affairs team to help shape evolving regulations.
Recommending pragmatic solutions to potential compliance issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and licensed in good standing.
10+ years of relevant in-house legal and/or law firm experience with strong knowledge of environmental sustainability laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proven leadership skills with a track record of motivating, empowering, supporting and engaging legal professionals to achieve optimal business results, develop their skills and careers, and enjoy their work.
Strong experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop, deliver, and guide effective, efficient regulatory compliance strategies and programs.
Ability to lead and manage complex projects; excellent presentation and written communication skills to both business and legal audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a large technology company or similar industry.
Experience working with regulatory bodies and industry groups.
