Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP Lateral Program Assistant in Washington, District Of Columbia
Arnold and Porter has an opening for a Lateral Program Assistant in the Washington, DC office to support the firmwide Lateral Program, which oversees the full-cycle recruiting process for all lateral partner and counsel candidates and the integration of all partner and counsel hires.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with research related to individual candidates, peer firms, and market trends.
- Maintaining the viRecruit database which includes entering candidates into the database, inputting data required for Mansfield Certification, updating candidate status, and running reports, as necessary.
- Coordinating and preparing candidate files for weekly Lateral Committee meetings.
- Maintaining the Lateral Partner and Counsel Candidate Report showing the status of active candidates and prospects.
- Preparing materials for meetings with search firms, including data on historical hires and active candidates.
- Assisting with interview schedules which may include coordinating partner availability, sending calendar invitations, updating the viRecruit database, updating recruiting documents, and following up for interviewer evaluations.
- Coordinating travel arrangements for candidates.
- Assisting with the orientation schedules for new lateral partners and counsel.
- Scheduling quarterly lateral integration meetings for recent lateral hires.
- Assisting the Director and Senior Manager in preparing the annual Lateral Program budget.
- Drafting monthly variance reports for the Lateral Program budget.
- Maintaining search firm agreements with recruiters in both U.S. and non-U.S. markets, consistent with firm and market practices.
- Processing lateral hire placement fees in accordance with the relevant search firm agreement.
- Processing additional Lateral Program related expenses.
Qualifications:
- Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
- Administrative support experience in professional services, corporate or law firm environment a plus.
- Proficient in a range of computer software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience working with applicant tracking systems is a plus.
- Excellent administrative skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Reliability, dependability, and strong motivation to respond to requests quickly.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while prioritizing work assignments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while exhibiting a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to build rapport with attorneys, professional staff, and external search firms.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide exceptional client service, both internally and externally.
- Flexibility to work additional hours, as necessary.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $50,000 to $58,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
