The Investigative Analyst II will support the INTERPOL Washington, U.S. National Central Bureau (USNCB), Office of the General Counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Process, prepare, edit, and perform a comprehensive review of U.S.-issued Red Notices (fugitive bulletins). Proofread applications for clarity, consistency, and completeness.

  • Ensure documents meet legal requirements. Write, edit, and prepare Red Notice drafts for legal review and approval.

  • Receive and compile data and reports on complex law enforcement matters and projects from a variety of internal and external sources, consolidating that information into useful, comprehensive materials that will ultimately be shared with other law enforcement agencies.

  • Prepare written reports summarizing the findings, status, or highlights of the assigned program.

  • Utilize the USNCB’s Envoy Communications Environment (ECE) to search for, organize, and manage case information, including data entry and uploading of preliminary investigative findings.

  • Transmit investigative information through international and domestic telecommunication systems to further investigative cases.

  • Answer and respond to electronic mail and phone inquiries from both domestic and international law enforcement partners.

  • Use the FBI’s National Crime Information Center (NCIC), CBP’s TECS, and INTERPOL’s Automated Search Facility (ASF) to perform database queries to identify, gather, and organize investigative leads.

  • Inspect electronic case files and various documents for accuracy and compliance.

  • Perform non-routine and complex assignments for projects of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project.

  • Communicate and collaborate with personnel with partner law enforcement and other agencies to resolve problems and coordinate the work by reviewing, analyzing, and integrating the technical work of others.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 1+ years of related experience performing the basic tasks of this position required

  • Demonstrated experience in basic fact-gathering and research methodology with various software essentials, like Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, SharePoint, and Word, as well as Microsoft CRM

  • Interim secret clearance upon the date of hire is the minimum clearance required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications and customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Capacity to leverage investigative, analytical, and evaluation methods and techniques specifically related to law enforcement and transnational crime

  • Ability to obtain secret clearance within 12 months.

  • Ability to travel
