ICITAP is a cornerstone of America’s global strategy for combating transnational crime, terrorism, countering trafficking in persons, establishing rule of law and enhancing human rights in developing countries.  Amentum is the contract service provider to the DOJ ICITAP and Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) programs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Amentum is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Law Enforcement Advisor in Nepal. This position will be responsible for overall guidance, technical, administration and operational assistance to Nepal Police and newly established Provincial Police Organizations, as well as instructor development of Armed Police Force boarder security trainers.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide training and technical assistance to the Nepal Police in the areas associated with the development of a POST like Commission employing evidence-based standards and practices.

  • Provide training and technical assistance to the Provincial Police organizations as they develop.

  • Meet with political stakeholders and educate them on policing issues.

  • Provide training and technical assistance to Provincial Police personnel from the patrol level to the Chief level in a variety of topics listed above.

  • Assist with the draft, edit, and review of evidence-based standards of training for Nepal Police and Armed Police Force as well as evidence-based curriculum development. Draft written reports including but not limited to, weekly reports, significant activity reports, and monthly reports.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:

  • Graduate of a certified federal, state, or municipal police academy.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent professional qualifications and experience.

  • Graduate or Certification in a recognized Instructor Development Course with experience in classroom and practical exercise instruction employing evidence-based practices preferred.

  • Minimum Experience:

  • Fifteen years of experience assigned to an accredited federal, state, or municipal law enforcement agency as a sworn law enforcement officer or agent.

  • Experience working with Foreign Law Enforcement Organizations related to Border Security Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for evidence-based curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

  • Clearable:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Public Trust Waiver.

  • Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust Waiver.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Qualified in designing and delivering both the practical and theoretical segments of course curriculums employing evidence-based practices.

  • Experienced in mentoring and training in austere environments and able to adapt to specific country/organization needs.
