Your Impact

  • Serve as company-designated fall protection and rope access program manager and administrator.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fall protection and rope access programs.

  • Serve as HSE subject matter expert in matters of bridge-inspection safety, fall protection, rope access safety, traffic control, elevated platforms, bucket trucks, bridge inspection machinery, traffic control, road construction safety.

  • Ability to serve as a qualified and competent person for selected bridge inspection and construction inspection projects.

  • Develop and implement project specific fall protection and rescue plans, traffic control plans, site-specific health and safety plans.

  • Manage selection, care and maintenance of fall prevention and rope access equipment for simple and complex worksites (ASSP/ANSI Z459).

  • Conduct project visits and audits at site locations within the Business Line.

  • Deliver safety training, focusing on topics associated with bridge inspections-related hazards per company and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform thorough incident investigations to identify and implement corrective actions necessary to prevent future incidents.

  • Effectively plan and coordinate activities according to project safety planning.

  • Analyze risks, establish project contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibility for initiating mitigation actions.

  • Travel to project sites and offices of at least 50%.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in related discipline (Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, Environment)

  • Designation as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other similar certification will be considered an asset.

  • 7+ years of experience in Health and Safety profession, specializing in fall protection, traffic control, bridge inspection, road construction safety.

  • Subject matter expert level knowledge of ANSI Z359 Fall Protection Code, ANSI Z459 Safety Requirements for Rope Access, Rope Descent Systems (RDS), and Industrial Rope Access Systems (IPAS), OSHA 1910 Subpart D&I.

  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing successful comprehensive fall protection programs (ASSP/ANSI Z359.2).

  • Experience in Rope Access programs development and management.

  • Selection, care and maintenance of fall prevention and rope access equipment for simple and complex worksites (ASSP/ANSI Z459).

  • Knowledge and experience in developing site-specific fall prevention and rescue plans.

  • Proven experience in serving as employer-designated fall protection/rope access administrator.

  • Experience with bridge inspections utilizing rope access, personal fall protection equipment, elevated work platforms, under-bridge machines (i.e., Aspen), hi-rail under-bridge machines, bucket trucks, working over water, working in proximity to traffic and experience developing safety programs for bridge and road construction inspections.

  • Ability to serve as qualified and competent person for rope access and fall protection project activities

  • Experience with HSE project auditing, focusing on fall protection, rescue, traffic control, construction equipment.

  • Experience with traffic control safety management.

  • Knowledge and experience with constriction OSHA 29CFR1926, developing and managing site-specific construction project safety plans, representing owners, prime contractors, joint-ventures, and subcontractors.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $86,700 - $154,330

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $86,700 - $144,870
