Position Overview

As the Head of Quality Engineering, you will lead the charge in ensuring the delivery of high-quality K12 assessment products across multiple platforms. This critical role requires a hands-on leader who combines technical expertise with strategic thinking to create and execute a robust, scalable quality strategy tailored to the needs of the K12 assessment market. You will lead a dynamic team of quality managers and engineers, driving the implementation of automated and scalable quality assurance processes that enhance product reliability, accelerate delivery, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accessibility standards. This role will play a critical role in increasing release speed and enhancing software quality by coding and implementing test automation, performance testing, and improvements to the SDLC

This role requires a blend of technical skills, leadership, and domain expertise to deliver exceptional assessment solutions for schools, districts, and state education agencies. You will lead a diverse team of quality engineers, including managers, employees, and contractors, working across multiple platforms and functional areas.

Strategic Quality Leadership

Develop and implement a quality assurance strategy aligned with the unique requirements of the K12 assessment industry, emphasizing automation, platform reliability, and user experience.

Build a culture of quality excellence, fostering accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.

Hands-On Technical Contributions

Code and contribute to the development of automated testing frameworks to enhance test coverage, increase release speed, and improve platform reliability.

Oversee the integration of quality assurance processes into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless and efficient deployments.

Operational and Functional Oversight

Manage performance testing to optimize software scalability and responsiveness, addressing the unique challenges of K12 assessment platforms.

Establish and track quality assurance metrics, providing actionable insights for product teams and leadership.

Collaborate with product management and development teams to ensure alignment on quality objectives, accessibility standards, and compliance requirements.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of quality engineers and managers, driving accountability and results.

Build a diverse and inclusive team culture, fostering collaboration across functions and geographies.

Risk Management and Issue Resolution

Oversee defect tracking, ensuring prompt identification and resolution of issues through cross-functional collaboration.

Identify and mitigate risks to product quality, including those related to accessibility, security, and compliance.

Emerging Technology Integration

Leverage AI and emerging technologies to drive efficiencies in testing, quality assurance, and assessment content delivery.

Stay ahead of industry trends, implementing solutions that align with evolving market and customer needs.
