Position Description
Minimum Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Minimum Experience 4 Summary Financial Institution and Policy Analysts work under limited supervision to conduct in-depth analyses on quantitative and qualitative data. Perform assigned project tasks while demonstrating increased mastery in areas of expertise and may lead projects and reviews. Share information and ideas regarding projects and work for their Project Team, Section, Division, or external stakeholders and may represent the Section or Division on group projects or task forces. Prepare and deliver communications including presentations and recommendations to others in the Section/Division and/or to external stakeholders. Some travel may be required. FR-25: A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public policy, economics, or another related field and a minimum of 4 years of related experience, or a master’s degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience FR-26: A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public policy, economics, or another related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or a master’s degree in a related field and 3 years of related experience About the Team The S&R Risk Analysis and Emerging Issues section supports the overall mission of S&R to promote a safe, sound, and stable banking and financial system that supports the growth and stability of the U.S. economy. As part of S&R's strategic goals, the Risk section strives to meet the following four main objectives: 1. Lead systematic and consistent processes for developing, gathering, synthesizing, analyzing, discussing, and responding to System risk information; 2. Support the day-to-day supervisory efforts of System supervisory groups to identify risks and provide subject matter expertise to assist with the evaluation of risk management practices at supervised institutions; 3. Contribute to policy development and implementation of risk-related topics; 4. Participate in addressing any other risk-related issues and contribute to other risk-related projects - such as testimonies and Congressional responses. About the Role Principal duties and responsibilities include: • Identify relevant and emerging credit, market and liquidity risk issues and trends by performing in-depth analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, including results of examinations and other supervisory activities; • Communicate well developed and well supported conclusions through clear and concise written products such as emails, presentations, reports, and briefing notes for delivery to internal stakeholders such as supervisory portfolio leads, management groups, examiners, Board members, etc.; • Coordinate and collaborate with peers and colleagues across the Federal Reserve system and interagency in order to stay abreast of views and trends; • Lead or participate in special studies or projects to inform the Federal Reserve’s oversight of credit, market and liquidity risk, to enhance our supervisory process and to develop supervisory guidance and regulation; • Train junior analysts. Requirements: • Safety and soundness examination experience or knowledge of banking regulation • Knowledge of commercial or retail credit products/risk or market/liquidity risk • Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team Notes: • This position is located in Washington DC. Employees are expected to spend a minimum of 4 days per month onsite and as business needs require. Relocation assistance is available. • The interview process will include a writing exercise.
