Hospital Patient Access Representative

100% On-Site - Washington, DC

Evening/Overnight Shifts

Job Description:

• The Patient Access Representative will work in a busy Emergency Department within the hospital's patient access/admissions team.

• Will sit at the front desk in the Emergency Department, collecting payments, verifying insurance, and collecting patient information.

• Will verify the reason for the patient's visit, enter in their information into the EMR, and provide customer service prior to them seeing a clinician.

• Candidates must have excellent customer service skills and have attention to detail.

• Candidates MUST be available to work occasional weekends and holidays as the ED is a 24/7 operation.

Schedule: Openings for both evening and overnight shifts (PRN - up to 30-40+ hours per week)

• Evenings: 3 PM - 11:30 PM

• Overnights: 11 PM - 7:30 AM

• Training will be for the first few weeks and will take place during the day shift.

• occasional weekends and holidays required

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• 1+ years of experience with healthcare, understanding medical terminology, patient registration, and insurance verification

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00
