Role Summary: The Enterprise Architect is responsible for establishing, updating, and sustaining the IT architecture for OBIM systems and the HART system. This role involves defining architecture standards, strategies, tools, models, frameworks, and alignment points. The Enterprise Architect ensures that all projects and solutions align with the target architecture throughout the government-defined lifecycles, providing technical leadership and expertise in architecture planning, solution architecture, and integration with internal and external entities. Responsibilities: Architecture Planning: Define the future OBIM systems and HART technology architecture, standards, and methodologies in accordance with DHS guidance and best practices. Solution Architecture: Provide expertise in planning, designing, implementing, and transitioning to the target architecture, ensuring alignment across projects and upgrades. Artifact Management: Develop, integrate, manage, and publish architecture artifacts such as models, diagrams, documents, and databases. Governance and Compliance: Ensure projects and solutions comply with DHS policies, processes, and procedures, participating in architecture governance through review boards and working groups. Technology Integration: Support the assessment, design, and implementation of COTS and GOTS products, and ensure solutions align with the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) and the DHS Enterprise Architecture (EA). Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate architecture discussions and initiatives with internal and external DHS entities, maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders. Minimum Requirements: Experience: Over 10 years of relevant experience in enterprise architecture for large-scale IT systems, including experience with multi-tier architecture and complex software integration. Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with architectural frameworks, EA tools, and methodologies, and proficiency in programming languages such as GO, C++, JAVA, and PL/SQL. Certification: Relevant certifications in enterprise architecture or equivalent professional qualifications. Leadership: Proven track record in a leadership role, managing architecture teams and projects. Knowledge and Expertise: In-depth understanding of the DHS Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) or equivalent lifecycle processes, and agile/DevSecOps methodologies. Preferred: Advanced Technical Skills: Proficiency in additional programming languages and tools relevant to system design and integration. Cloud and Infrastructure: Strong background in designing and implementing cloud-based and on-premises solutions, including network infrastructure. Security Awareness: Understanding of security requirements and best practices, ensuring that all technical solutions comply with relevant security standards. Project Management: Ability to manage and coordinate complex technical projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project goals. Advanced Degrees: A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as computer science or engineering. Certifications: Relevant certifications in enterprise architecture, project management, or agile methodologies. Strategic Development: Experience in developing and implementing strategic technical plans, including technology roadmaps and innovation strategies. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Location: This opportunity is remote.
