National Children's Center Corporate Trainer in Washington, District Of Columbia

JOB SUMMARY

As an organization focused on continuous learning, the Corporate Trainer plays an integral role in working collaboratively with the Professional Development Manager and senior leadership to ensure NCC is actively engaged in designing and administering a first-class professional training and development program for its workforce. The Trainer will support the development of an expansive curriculum that creates growth and development opportunities for every position within the organization.

Key responsibilities, in partnership with the Professional Development Manager, are developing strategic training goals and objectives in alignment with NCC’s mission as well as oversight of systems. Identifies and coordinates external training resources, including trends and innovations in adult education and professional development. Provides support in all areas of professional development: core competencies, professional development (internal and external), subject-specific instruction in subject matter related to intellectual disability, and mandatory retraining.

LOCATON: Downtown Silver Spring, MD with the ability to travel to sites across Washington, DC and Montgomery and Prince Georges County, MD to deliver training. Hybrid position; candidates must live in the DC/MD/VA area (approx. 2 days per week in the office, additional office days required when delivering training).

The salary for this position is $70,000-$80,000 based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and revise as necessary core competency training programs reflective of NCC’s core values, and in alignment with industry best practices

  • Oversee New Hire Orientation, including maintaining necessary training materials

  • Assist programs in completing mandatory training in compliance with regulatory agencies

  • Facilitate and support mandatory certification training required by regulation and/or that reflect best practices, i.e. MANDT, CPR/First Aid, Food Handlers

  • Design original training programs based upon internal trends, industry and regulatory requirements, and staff survey data

  • Prepare reports and presentations for management on usage, evaluation, and effectiveness of training initiatives

  • Ability to report to various sites in Maryland and Washington, DC to deliver training

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of training experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; including needs assessment, curriculum development, training delivery and assessment

  • Experience in adult training and teaching

  • Learning Management System (LMS) experience, Relias a plus

  • Work or lived experience with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities is beneficial

  • CPR & First Aid certification (or eligibility)
